January with Josie

JOSIE BORAIN'S CAPE TOWN

Photographer and ex-supermodel Josie Borain lived in New York for 13 years without ever even visiting the Statue of Liberty. But she refuses to miss out on the splendours of South Africa's Mother City, so takes action to become a tourist on her own turf.

On a four-day whirlwind tour soaking up the sights and sounds of Cape Town, Josie discovers a deeper love for her home and the delights of a South African 'staycation'.

Hold on tight and click here to re-live her long weekend careening around the hotspots on a Harley Davidson.

"I thoroughly enjoyed this article. Having left South Africa almost two decades ago, I enjoy my occasional visits, but always wish I could do more in the time I have. Such an incredibly beautiful, diverse and interesting country and well-worth being a 'tourist' on home-turf." - Marilyn
