Cheetahs are one of the most threatened cats in Africa. We must continue working hard to protect their diminishing populations © Björn Persson

Despite their admired beauty, one the world’s most perfected land mammals is racing toward extinction, with the latest cheetah census suggesting that the big cats, which are already few in number, may decline by an additional 53 percent over the next 15 years. There are only an estimated 7100 cheetahs left in the wild today, and they have now been restricted to 9% of their historic range. We must continue to work hard to raise awareness for the conservation of these majestic cats!
